How to Create Dependent Post-Spin Reactions
In this tutorial you will learn how to create post-spin reactions that can be different depending on which segment that the wheel lands on.
To illustrate what this means, take a look at this example wheel I've created.
Tap to spin the wheel and notice how you get a different sound and effect dependent on which segment is landed on:
"What is this witchcraft?", I hear you ask. Well, you can achieve similar results in next to no time.
Open the above wheel in a new window if you want to see and experiment with the mechanics of this wheel straight away. Here's how to do it...
Enable post-spin reaction effects
In order to gain access to this functionality, you will need to check the box that enables it from Wheel settings > Wheel design > Wheel entries:
Update the post-spin reactions per entry
After applying the above, you will see on the wheel page that things appear differently in the Edit box. You have "grinning face" emojis next to each entry.
Click on these faces and you will see that a drop-down selection appears where you can choose between one of three "moods": happy, neutral and sad.
So, in our example, we can choose the happy face for what we want to be an entry that gives the user a "good" reaction, a neutral face for what we want to be a neutral reaction and a sad face for what we want to be a bad reaction.
Then you can end up with something like the following:
Change the post-spin sounds and effects
There are default post-spin effect sounds and effects for the post-spin reactions, but what if you want to change them to something else? That can be done by following the steps below in order to suit your needs.
Navigate to Wheel settings (the cog icon) > Post-Spin. There you will see that you now have three choices of faces: happy, neutral and sad. These relate to the three types of post-spin reactions that can be defined. Of course, you don't have to use all three. For each of these you can now define different values such as post-spin sound, volume and winner effects (Popup box text, removal options and animations such as confetti). See the screen shot images, below.
First, for our "happy" reaction we might choose to have a success sound and confetti:
Next, for our "neutral" reaction we might choose to have a neutral-type sound and no animaton:
Finally, for our "sad" reaction, we could opt for a negative sound and a "bad" animation:
You can also change the default popup text as you see fit.
After adjusting these, apply the settings and your wheel will act accordingly. Give it a try today and let your creativity run wild!
