On this page you will see random musical wheels created using the spinthewheel.io tool. You can use the musicxml format to insert your own music into segments on your own random wheels to create playable sheet music. It is ideal for teachers and students to help learn how to play musical instruments.
You can even play the sheet music in your browser!
The musical wheels allow you to spin and randomly choose notated musical passages that your students can sing, hum, play on an instrument, or interpret in any way they like. They make music lessons interactive, unpredictable and exciting.
You may already have a library of music in musicxml format ready to use.
If so, click on the cog wheel icon in the entry editing area:
Next, select the "Wheel design" tab. Then scroll down to the bottom and check the box that enables MusicXML entries. Apply the settings.
After you have done that, you will see a music note icon 🎵 in the menu of the random wheel. Click it to add your music onto a segment of the wheel.
If you don't have any musicxml files available to use, here's how you can create sheet music to add to a wheel segment:
If you don't know where to begin, here are some sample AI prompts for generating music in musicxml format that you might wish to use:
Generate exactly 6 (any number) monophonic MusicXML melody files. Requirements: Each file must contain one complete melody only. Duration: approximately 15 (enter your number) seconds when performed at the specified tempo. Output a title for each melody. Output a recommended filesystem-safe filename for each melody. Provide complete, valid MusicXML code for each melody. Place each MusicXML file in its own separate code block. Include pitches, note durations, measures, time signature, key signature, and tempo marking. Use standard MusicXML structure compatible with common notation software. Do not include accompaniment, harmony, chords, lyrics, dynamics, articulations, percussion, or additional parts. Ensure every MusicXML example is complete and immediately usable without modification. Make each melody distinct in rhythm and contour. Output exactly 6 MusicXML files and nothing else beyond the title, filename, and MusicXML code for each file.
Enjoy using this innovation that has been made especially for music teachers and students!
